Police name victim of Friday night shooting

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have released the identity of the victim of a homicide Friday night in the town of Renfrew.

The victim has been identified as Jonathan Logan, 41-years-old of Renfrew County.

Police say they continue to investigate the death, which happened shortly before 10:30 pm on May 19, at a home on Vimy Boulevard, where officers found a victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. The individual was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival and remains outstanding.

Police believe the victim was targeted.

The investigation is being conducted by the Renfrew OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Centre of Forensic Sciences. Members of the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit are assisting.

Police say further updates will be provided when more information is available.
