RIP: Marie Gayda

Surrounded by love and lifted up in prayer, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Lillian Monica ‘Marie’ Gayda (nee Brady), entered into eternal rest on December 4, 2023 at the age of 89 years. 

Predeceased by her soulmate and husband of 51 years, Michael Gayda Sr. 

Cherished mother of Michael (Gail) Gayda Jr. of Deep River, Vicky Cooper of Kincardine, Kathleen (Jeff) McDougall of Ottawa and the late Susan (Glenn) Doncaster of Deep River. 

Loving and devoted grandmother to Amy (Joel) Croteau, Jason Carey, Allan (Joanne) Cooper, Kurtis (Courtney) Cooper, Ashley (Terry) Leeflang, Megan (Patrick) Aikens, Melissa (Brady) Alexander, Julie Francoeur, Krysha (Joe) Gayda, Bethany (Kevin) McMahon, Elaine (Derrick) Gayda, Marie (Josh) Gayda, Autumn Doncaster and Melina Doncaster. She will be fondly remembered and lovingly missed by her 19 great-grandchildren who brought her such tremendous joy. 

Adored sister of the late Elaine Blair, late Anne (late Paul) Bergeron, Walter (Nancy) Brady, Pat (Brian) Molyneaux, late Carolyne (Jim) Morris, Michele (Jim) Scanlan and Dan (Judy) Brady. Marie has many nieces and nephews who will treasure her with fondness. 

A woman of deep faith, with a kind and gentle soul, Marie made this world so much brighter and leaves behind a legacy of profound love. 

Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home on Sunday, December 10 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Deep River on Monday, December 11 at 11 a.m. Interment at the Deep River Community Cemetery. 

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Four Seasons Lodge for their tremendous care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marie would be gratefully accepted to the Deep River & District Health Foundation – Four Seasons Lodge.
