There’s no definite date, but riders may soon be able to take the Algonquin Trail all the way from the south end of Renfrew County to Bissett Creek.
The former CP Rail corridor trail has been open for some time as far as Petawawa.
Now, the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail committee says work is under way to finish the connection from Petawawa to Chalk River, and will begin soon to complete the 53 km from Wylie Road to Crossing Road in Bissett Creek.
On its Facebook page, the committee says a 12 km section of trail from Ashport Road in Mackey to Yates Road in Stonecliffe is already under way.
