It’s official – the town of Deep River is looking for “suitable partners” to work with to “further the development” of a new hotel on Highway 17.
The town issued a “request for expressions of interest” (RFEOI) on January 16.
Companies interested have until February 6 to submit questions on the project, and “expressions of interest” will be received until 2 pm on Friday, February 27.
The RFEOI notes that the town recently hired consultants CBRE Hotels to do a “short-term accommodation needs study.”
“This study identified strong corporate demand from Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (Canada’s premier nuclear science and technology organization) and Garrison Petawawa (one of Canada’s largest and most important military bases), and concluded that there is a strong business case for a 65-room, branded, mid-scale, focused service hotel in Deep River.
“Several parcels of land along Hwy 17 (the Trans-Canada Highway) suitable for a hotel property have been identified”…
