Deep River’s first post-Covid Canada Day celebrations kicked off Friday morning with the traditional “Red & White” Parade sponsored by the local Rotary Club.

With activities moved indoors at the arena due to the uncertain weather forecast for Friday afternoon, participants followed the Deep River Legion colour party and Rotary marching band twice around the arena floor before Canada Day greetings from Mayor Sue D’Eon and Canada Day cake provided by Rotary volunteers.

Children’s games and activities, as well as face painting and two shows by Little Ray’s Reptiles at 12:30 and 2:30 pm, continue throughout the afternoon.

The day will wrap up with a live DJ and petting zoo at the waterfront campus Friday evening and a Canada Day fireworks show sponsored by the town and Deep River Community Association Friday night at about 10 pm.
