Lawyer says Rossi not guilty

The lawyer for the man charged with the murder of Sommer Boudreau almost one year ago says he is “not criminally responsible” for the crime.

Marnie Munsterman entered a plea of “not guilty subject to section 16 of the Criminal Code” on behalf of Adam Rossi in Pembroke court Tuesday.

Rossi, now 42, was charged last December with second degree murder and “indignity to a body” following a police investigation into the death of 39-year-old Sommer Boudreau.

Police were originally called to a home on Rutherford Avenue shortly after 8:30 pm December 11 last year to conduct a “well-being check.”

Rossi has been making regular appearances at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke for the past year but until recently his case was still considered to be at the “bail hearing” stage.

Details of those proceedings cannot be reported under a publication ban that prevents the publishing, broadcast or transmission in any way, of any evidence, information or “representations made and the reasons”…
