The Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged two more people in connection with the “suspicious death” of a Pembroke resident last Friday.
On May 27, 2022 police located a deceased male, identified as Justin Walker, 32 years old, at a downtown apartment in Pembroke. An investigation was commenced by the OPP Upper Ottawa Valley Crime Unit and OPP Forensic Identification Services, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
On June 2, 2022 officers arrested and charged Connor “Doc” Murdock, 18 years old from no fixed address, with the following Criminal Code charges:
- Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Theft under $5,000
- Obstructing a Peace Officer
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Also arrested and charged was Adonte Skinner, 24 years old from Ottawa. Skinner has been charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Failure to comply with release order – three counts
- Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Both will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on June 3, 2022.
Another individual from Pembroke, John Dagenais, 31 years old, was earlier charged with Obstructing Police and is now before the courts.
The OPP investigation, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, is continuing.
