The townships of Head, Clara & Maria will not take action to impose trailer licence fees or increase the cost of garbage tags for local campgrounds, at least not this year.
But that doesn’t mean they have completely rejected the idea.
Townships council considered the proposals at their regular monthly meeting in May.
In a report to council, municipal administrator Crystal Fischer noted that the townships do have a trailer licensing bylaw, but that it specifically states that the annual trailer licensing fees “do not apply to camping establishments.”
“If council would like to proceed with directing staff to complete research on trailer licensing and/or user fees for private campgrounds, it is staff’s recommendation that a report not be due until August to allow sufficient time for research,” Fischer said…
