Deep River will soon begin work on fixing one of the most heavily used sections of road in town.
Deep River council approved a contract at a special meeting Tuesday night for the repair and repaving of 350 metres of Brockhouse Way, from the driveway of the Cockcroft apartments to the municipal boat launch opposite the western entrance to Mackenzie Community School.
In a report to council, David McCarthy, the town’s infrastructure and contract manager, noted that the design for the full reconstruction of Brockhouse Way, from the Cockcroft apartments to the intersection with Laurier Ave, was completed in 2001.
