The town of Deep River may be ready to tackle a major eyesore, but the cost to do so won’t come cheap.
Deep River council will hold a special meeting tonight to consider bids to repaint the town’s water tower.
But in a report to council posted Monday, town staff recommend awarding the project to Landmark Municipal Services ULC at a cost of $2.379 million.
Staff are recommending that a further $261,897 be added to the project for “engineering, design, tender, project management and inspection,” bringing the total cost to more than $2.6 million.
The town budgeted for the project this year at an estimated $1.5 million….
