The local community is getting behind Kyle Tremblay’s quest for Olympic gold.

The Deep River athlete will be competing for Canada in Para archery at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which will run from August 28 to September 28 in Paris, France.

A delegation of supporters pulled into the driveway of Tremblay’s Balmer Bay home last Thursday evening to surprise him with a number of donations geared towards defraying the costs associated with his rigorous training regimen.

Reeve Glenn Doncaster and Mayor Sue D’Eon presented Kyle with $2,000 from the town itself, as well as a sum of money which had been donated by members of town council.

Four local business owners were also on hand to support Tremblay’s Olympic bid with corporate sponsorships.

In the photo with Tremblay and some of his archery equipment are, from left to right, Kevin Hickey (James J. Hickey Real Estate Ltd), Tracy Lance (K&T Trucking), Doncaster (Digital Copy Xpress), Mayor D’Eon, and Gary McAnulty of P&G Pumping.

Others in the community wishing to cheer on Deep River’s homegrown Olympian are welcome to do so by dropping off donations and/or letters of support at Digital Copy Xpress.
