St. Mary’s Class of 2023 may have been “challenging” and “unique,” but that’s part of what makes a teacher’s “very interesting.”
That’s the message Grade 8 teacher Ryan Joyce delivered to his 28 graduating students last week as school staff, family and friends gathered to celebrate their achievements and wish them well in their future endeavours.
Joyce said that even within the various groups you get within a Grade 8 classroom – from hockey players to artists to student council – “even within each of these, these kids all brought their own, style, let’s call it, to the table.”
“And for me, that makes my job very interesting – never dull, that’s for sure.”
Principal Ryan Kranz said this year’s class is graduating at a time the world faces many challenges, but when the opportunities created by those challenges “have never been greater,” he added.
“As you go forward, don’t forget the friends you’ve made and those you will still make along the way. True friendship is a gift,” he said.
“Continue taking care of yourself, your family, your friends, and be grateful for the world we live in”…
