Police chief awarded Coronation Medal

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, has awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal to Deep River’s Chief of Police, Dean Duchrow.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal is a Canadian honour created to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on May 6, 2023.

A total of 30,000 medals were created to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to Canada, or a particular region or community, or who have achieved outstanding results abroad that bring credit to the country.

In his letter informing the chief of the award, Premier Doug Ford noted that he nominated Duchrow for the medal in recognition of his “exceptional contributions and dedication to the betterment of our province and the country” during his 36-year career in policing…
