The Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says it is currently investigating a fatal single motor vehicle collision on Len Hopkins Drive in Petawawa.
Police say the collision scene was discovered by an area resident Tuesday morning at approximately 8 am, who then notified police.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle left the roadway, rolled and caught fire.
One deceased person was located at the scene. At this time there is no indication that there were any passengers in the vehicle.
An OPP Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigator (TCI) are assisting with the investigation. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death and to confirm the identity of the deceased person.
Due to the investigation Len Hopkins Drive is currently closed between Airport Road and Black Bay Road.
