No serious injuries in Monday afternoon crash


Highway 17 has been reduced to one lane following a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon just east of Wylie Road in Deep River.

The two vehicles, a compact car and minivan, struck head-on with both vehicles coming to rest on the shoulder on the north side of the highway.

Deep River police and firefighters and Renfrew County paramedics responded to the accident just before 3 pm.

Fortunately it appears there were no serious injuries in the crash. Both drivers walked away from their vehicles, although one was later transferred to hospital by ambulance to be checked out.

The cause of the collision is not known at this time. Police remain on scene directing traffic around the crash site.
