The week of April 17-21 was a successful one for Mackenzie athletes and the elementary side was not to be left out of athletic successes! The Grade 7 girls basketball team headed to Valour on Friday for the A finals of the RCEIAA West tournament.
After dominating tournament play in the qualifier in Deep River on April 18, racking up scores of 57-3, 54-4, and 56-4, the team went into the tournament as heavy favourites.
They did not disappoint, coming away undefeated and beating Valour 29-5 for the title.
This group of girls has really made their presence felt in sports this year, having also brought home the cross-country and volleyball titles, and some impressive results in badminton – we look forward to seeing what they do next!
