Mayor files nomination to run for second term

Deep River Mayor Sue D’Eon wants to finish what she started.

And to that end, she filed her nomination papers last week, seeking a second term at the helm of council in municipal elections this coming fall.

The nomination period for candidates to file their nomination papers began May 2, and runs through to Friday, August 19, with voters heading to the polls on Monday, October 24.

D’Eon said the town has a number of projects underway she’d like to see through to completion, citing the downtown revitalization plan and the west end secondary plan as just a couple of examples.
