The Mackenzie Senior and Varsity badminton teams dominated at the UOVHSAA tournament last Friday, April 22, taking home the county trophy for greatest team aggregate.
Gold medals in girls doubles and both gold and silver in boys doubles, along with victories from many of the other Mustang players, meant that the team trophy returned once again to Deep River.
Those three doubles teams, and a silver medalist in Open boys singles will compete at EOSSAA in Brockville this week, looking for a chance to play against the top high school players in the province at OFSAA in May.
On Wednesday, the Junior team (below) also took gold in girls doubles, as well as a silver in boys singles in their own tournament.
In both tournaments, there were numerous other notable performances including third and fourth place finishes.
Most incredibly, however, was the high level of participation in the junior tournament which saw more than 330 matches being played throughout the eight-hour day.
