Mackenzie Community School’s graduating “Class of 2025” has “truly embodied” the character of the school’s symbol, the Mustang, demonstrating resilience and independence.
“Whether your path leads to post-secondary education, trade school, or the workforce, I have every confidence that you will succeed,” said principal Megan Robillard during graduation ceremonies in Childs Auditorium last week.
“Always stay true to yourself, work hard, and remain grounded in your values.”
Robillard said that while it was her first year at Mackenzie this year, “I speak for the staff as a whole when I say, it has been an absolute privilege to watch you grow academically, socially, and emotionally.”
“Together, we’ve witnessed the countless triumphs and challenges that have shaped you into the young adults you are this evening.”
Going forward, Robillard urged this year’s graduates to remember that “success isn’t solely defined by your accomplishments. It’s also measured by the impact you have on others.”
“Use your education to make a positive difference in the lives around you,” she said.
“Be compassionate, empathetic, and respectful of others, regardless of their differences. Embrace diversity, advocate for justice, and lend your voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.”
On behalf of the entire staff, Robillard said, “we are immensely proud of your achievements, and we have no doubt that you will go on to accomplish great things.”
“Congratulations, Class of 2025! May your future be filled with endless possibilities and success.”
A total of 69 students received their Ontario Secondary School Diplomas this year, with future plans ranging from entering the workforce, joining the Canadian Armed Forces or returning to Mackenzie for a fifth year, to studying international economics at the University of British Columbia or “engineering mechatronics” at Carleton…
