Anne Giardini is seeking a second four-year term as the mayor of Laurentian Hills, and hopes to continue an incredibly long run in municipal politics which began when she was first elected as a councillor back in 2003.
“As I complete my first term on council, and after 23 years serving on council, I’m proud of what we have accomplished together for our community,” Giardini said in a statement to the NRT.
Giardini went on to point to a number of accomplishments council has made over the past four years.
“During this term, council worked collaboratively to deliver several important initiatives, including re-instating the recreation committee, installing a major filter at our water filtration plant, revising the town’s zoning bylaw and maintaining a tax levy with no increases throughout the current term,” she stated.
“These achievements reflect our commitment to responsible leadership, sound financial management and investing in the future of Laurentian Hills.
“None of these accomplishments would been possible without the dedication of our incredible municipal staff and the many volunteers who generously give their time to strengthen our community.”
Giardini said she’s also proud to have represented Laurentian Hills for the past four years on county council, where she’s served as chair of the county’s community services committee…
