Dumoulin questions firefighter pay

A provincial labour arbitrator has given Larry Dumoulin until this Friday to explain why he should get the answers he’s looking for.

Dumoulin filed a complaint with the Ontario Labour Relations Board sometime last year saying the town of Deep River has not complied with the Labour Relations Act by filing all of its collective agreements with the Deep River Professional Fire Fighters Association.

But in a ruling dated December 11, arbitrator Brian D. Mulroney said Dumoulin would have until January 12 to explain why he should have standing on the issue if he is not a firefighter himself.

The case relates to salaries reported for Deep River’s firefighters under the 2022 public sector salary disclosure, generally known as the provincial “sunshine list”…
