Deep River treasurer steps down

Deep River council may want to consider oiling its revolving door.

The one for municipal treasurers, that is.

That’s because, for the third time in the space of four years, the municipality finds itself without one.

A report on the agenda for this week’s council meeting makes note of the fact that Christine Leon has resigned her position as treasurer, effective this Friday.

Leon hasn’t been on the job for long, having been hired by the town to manage the town’s finances just 14 months ago…
