A 41-year-old Deep River man has been charged as the result of an investigation into a death in Deep River Sunday night.
The Ontario Provincial Police have announced that Adam Rossi has been arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
• Second degree murder – section 235(1)
• Indignity to a body – section 182(b)
Rossi was held for a bail hearing on Monday, December 12, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in conjunction with the Deep River Police Service, announced Monday they were investigating a death in the town of Deep River.
In a statement released late Monday morning, police say officers attended a residence on Rutherford Avenue on Sunday night shortly after 8:30 pm to conduct a well-being check, where one person was located deceased.
OPP units working with the Deep River Police include the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Forensic Identification Services (FIS), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Regional Support Team (RST) and the UOV OPP Crime Unit.
In addition to the home on Rutherford, police also cordoned off the alleyway behind the Glendale Plaza and conducted walking searches around the area of the Deep River post office.
