The deadline for “expressions of interest” in the redevelopment of the former Keys School property in Deep River has been extended to Friday, April 11.
That was the message posted on the town’s website last week.
The original deadline was this coming Friday, April 4.
There was no reason given on the website as to why the deadline was extended by a week, be that for a lack of submissions or otherwise.
Deep River and the County of Renfrew jointly purchased the property last year from the Renfrew County District School Board after it declared the former school as surplus in 2023.
The two municipal partners are seeking to determine the potential of the property for housing and/or community space.
On March 17, they issued a Request For Expressions of Interest (RFEOI) from potential developers.
“The purpose of this Expression of Interest process is to identify suitable partners that the county and town can work closely with to redevelop the subject lands in a way that will maximize its long-term benefit to our community, including housing and the potential for community space and attainable housing,” the RFEOI document states…
