Deep River’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP) envisions large-scale changes to the downtown core, but those changes won’t happen overnight.
That was the message presented to town council last week by the consulting firm hired by the municipality earlier this year to develop a CIP, which is a planning tool used to improve specific areas in a community that have been identified as needing revitalization.
CIPs provide financial incentives to property owners to assist with improvements to their properties, as well as guiding municipalities in improvements to public property.
Deep River’s CIP has been under development for the past few years.
Town council hired Jp2g Consulting to prepare the plan and passed a bylaw a year ago designating the downtown core as a “Community Improvement Project Area”…
