Deep River is in good financial shape as town council wraps up its current term in office.
That was the message presented to council last week when its auditor, Fred Sinclair, presented the municipality’s draft consolidated financial statements for 2021.
Sinclair started off his presentation by going right to the financial bottom line, pointing out the town’s accumulated surplus rose by more than a million dollars in 2021 to sit at $25,592,126 by year’s end.
Sinclair told council part of the reason for the increase in the town’s accumulated surplus stemmed from the fact the municipality’s combined reserves and reserve funds grew by more than $600,000 in 2021 to sit at $2.9 million…
