Cogeco bringing fibre to HCM

At their meeting on September 19, council of the United Townships of Head, Clara, and Maria unanimously passed a resolution in support of Cogeco’s buried fibre optics program.

“We have here what I would call ‘rural internet,’ so we’re just delighted that they’re interested in coming up this far,” said Mayor Debbi Grills.

Cogeco, currently busy at work in Deep River, will be bringing its high-speed broadband services to approximately 6,000 premises across the Ottawa Valley.

This buried fibre optics project is part of Infrastructure Ontario’s Accelerated High Speed Internet Program (AHSIP).

Cogeco completed the “backbone” project last year and has now received the support needed from the townships to move forward with the next stage…
