The Deep River Curling and Squash Club’s 2021-22 “Learn to Curl” program had five enthusiastic graduates this year and all decided to join the regular curling draws after completing the 10-week course.
This was the ninth consecutive year this program has been offered and over 150 adults have completed the program – many are now enthusiastic members of the club.
The program typically starts in early November and is led by experienced curling coaches who gradually introduce participants to all aspects of the game including the rock delivery, sweeping techniques, scoring and the strategy of the game.
Over the 10 weeks participants gradually improve their technique and knowledge of the game and are then ready to take advantage of the sporting and social aspects of the game of curling.
If you or someone you know might be interested in joining next year’s group, please contact Chris Knight at knightcurler@hotmail.com or call/text 613-716-0846.
