On Friday, March 22, Mackenzie Community School’s RISE club held their first community wide event, a trivia night, in hopes of fundraising for North Renfrew Family Services.
Their efforts paid off thanks to the amazing support and encouragement shown by the numerous teams that had registered and the club was able to raise $175.
RISE, originally founded by Avantika Vaidya and Bridget Chiasson, has over the year grown into a group of very dedicated and passionate high school students.
Throughout the year, RISE has worked to fundraise and support various local and international initiatives by holding different fundraisers such as such as selling candy grams at Christmas time, to collecting non-perishable food items for the food drive, and most recently, the community trivia night in support of NRFS.
Through the continued support of the school and community, RISE members hope to see this club grow and be even more successful in years to come, and thank all those that have been so supportive thus far.
