School boards lead county sunshine list

The dollars continue to grow when it comes to Ontario’s “100K Club.”

Last Friday, the province released its annual “sunshine list” of public sector employees earning more than $100,000.

Across the province, more than 200,000 people were on the sunshine list last year.

For Renfrew County agencies, the growth at the top continued in 2020.

The Renfrew County District School Board led the way once again with 301 employees reporting earnings of more than $100,000 in 2020, while the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board had 83.

Combined, the two school boards have seen their total number of $100,000 earners jump from 195 in 2018 to 384 in 2020, an increase of almost double over two years.
