Police say Deep River man has died after fatal motorcycle crash

Tragic news this morning from the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP.

Police report that in the early hours of today, Friday, June 26, 2020, shortly after 12 am, OPP officers, Military Police and Renfrew County paramedics responded to a report of a motorcycle in the ditch on Paquette Road in Petawawa, between Montgomery Road and Menon Road.

The initial investigation has found that the motorcycle entered the ditch, with the rider being thrown from the vehicle.

The rider was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but was later pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as Darren Stiles, age 42 of Deep River.

Police say the investigation continues, with the assistance of an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigator.
