One person was taken to hospital by ambulance late Saturday afternoon after a single vehicle accident east of Chalk River.
The late model SUV left the roadway in the passing lanes east of the Petawawa Forestry and rolled onto its roof in the ditch on the south side of the highway.
Laurentian Hills firefighters were dispatched at 4:15 pm to assist Renfrew County paramedics at the scene. Auto extrication was not required.
Road conditions were poor as the highway was partially snow covered and a combination of snow and rain fell as precipitation.
Conditions are expected to continue to be poor as snow mixed with rain and freezing rain falls through the evening and overnight.
