Ian Ingram was the big winner in the final draw of the Deep River and District Hospital Foundation’s fourth “Catch the Ace” lottery.
Ingram, of Deep River, won the progressive jackpot worth $73,551. Barb Clark, also of Deep River, won the weekly prize of $8,758.
Ingram was on hand at the hospital Friday with his wife, Margo, and children Amy, Maggie and Liam, to accept his “big cheque” from, in back, from left to right, Deep River and District Hospital chief financial officer William Willard and Hospital Foundation chair Leo Buckley.
The “Catch the Ace” draws were suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thursday’s draw was a “must go” draw, with 21 tickets pulled before the Ace of Spades was revealed in envelope #11.
The Hospital Foundation hopes to resume its “Catch the Ace” draws in the fall with electronic ticket sales.
So far, the series of four “Catch the Ace” draws have raised more than $1.25 million towards the Hospital Foundation’s major campaign goal of $1.75 million for new X-ray and other diagnostic imaging equipment.
