Highway 17 was closed in both directions early Monday evening after Laurentian Hills firefighters, Renfrew County paramedics and the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a single vehicle accident just west of Rolphton.
An eyewitness to the crash said the eastbound car, a late model KIA sedan, was travelling at “quite a clip” and appeared to swerve at least twice before hitting the shoulder and entering the south ditch of the highway, where it rolled three times and once end over end before coming to rest.
The driver, a man in his late 20s or early 30s, was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was being treated for minor injuries at the scene.
