French Immersion is coming to Mackenzie Community School in September 2021.
A virtual meeting to provide information and gather community input will be held tonight, on Thursday, November 26 from 6 to 8 pm.
Parents of students currently enrolled at MCS have been sent a link and invited to join the Zoom meeting, while anyone else who is interested in participating is asked to contact <email@example.com> for a quick login access to the link.
The introduction of an immersion program at Mackenzie CS continues the multi-year initiative of the Renfrew County District School Board to provide a choice of French second language learning programs to every student in Renfrew County.
Currently, MCS provides Core French for students in all grades starting in Kindergarten and an optional extended French program from Grade 5 to 8.
The new French Middle Immersion Program, starting in Grade 4, will replace the extended program.
The Zoom meeting on Thursday will address all matters regarding eligibility, programming, staffing, enrolment and more, with an opportunity for participants to get answers to their own questions or to respond to the discussion.
