The Deep River Farmers’ Market is set to launch its ninth season this Saturday, May 29 in the Deep River town hall parking lot.
Local farmers and producers from Renfrew County will be on hand every other Saturday from May 29 through October 2 between 10 am and 1 pm to share the fruits, vegetables, meats and other products of their labour.
“Farmers’ markets help build communities and are considered a cultural asset,” says market manager Sam deGroot.
“Operating bi-weekly in downtown Deep River, the Deep River Farmers’ Market promotes Renfrew County, the businesses and services available within the township, and strengthens the local food system.”
The list of producers and vendors joining the market and the variety of products that will be available continues to grow.
Returning vendors include Shulist Family Farm, Teske’s Spin Farm, Blair’s Maple Products, Pinnacle Haven Farm, deGroot’s Apiaries, Beth’s Kitchen, Sweet Sucré, Forest Creek Clothing Co., Ottawa Valley Farm to Fork (formerly Moonlight Crofters), Wilno House Organics, and Griffith Farm and Market.
Deep River’s hyper local farmer, Wellspring Gardens, will be returning for select dates this season.
New vendors this year include Square Timber Brewing Company, Back 40 Bagel Shop, Rescue Silk.
Additional part-time vendors may be joining throughout the market season.
