Hang on to your hats! This isn’t over yet…

The Deep River and District Hospital Foundation’s “Catch the Ace” draw will continue at least one more week after the Ace of Spades was not revealed in the Week 49 draw Thursday night at the Bear’s Den.

Foundation volunteer Kathy Buckley drew this week’s winning ticket belonging to Charlotte and Jack Schaven of Eganville. They had chosen envelope 7 as their lucky choice, but once opened, the envelope was found to contain the 10 of Spades, one of just four cards left.

There will be just three envelopes (numbers 18, 20 and 47) remaining in play for the Week 50 draw next Thursday, February 21. The only three cards remaining from the original deck of 52 are the King of Diamonds, the 8 of Spades, and of course the Ace of Spades which will crown the grand prize winner.

As weekly winners, the Schavens will receive $49,992 – $1 for every ticket sold in Week 49. The weekly sales have increased by 20,000 tickets in just two weeks.

The progressive jackpot had reached a total of more than $410,000. Another week of ticket sales will likely push the total grand prize available – both weekly winnings and progressive jackpot – to well over $500,000.

Meanwhile, the Hospital Foundation has already earned $636,000 from the weekly lottery. By the end of Week 50, that total is likely to have grown by another $100,000 or more.
