It won’t be until later this year, but the next step in the completion of the Algonquin Trail is on the horizon.
Renfrew County’s development and property committee is recommending that a contract be awarded for the rehabilitation of three bridges in the area of Landry Road and Deluthier Road, near the Petawawa Forestry.
The bridge work will allow for the trail to be completed across Garrison Petawawa, connecting the southern parts of the trail to Chalk River and beyond.
“This will complete the trail from basically Wylie Road all the way through to Smiths Falls. So a big accomplishment between the partners of Lanark County and ourselves,” said Jason Davis, the county’s director of development and property…
