The Ontario Provincial Police report that the Crime Unit of the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the OPP is currently investigating after the body of a deceased adult was found along a trail in Petawawa’s Terrace Provincial Park.
Police say the body was discovered by a park user on Monday, November 4 at approximately 12:30 pm, who then notified police.
OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Coroner’s Office is also assisting with the investigation. A post-mortem is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 5 to determine the cause of death. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
Police say the identity of the deceased person is not being released at this time pending notification of next-of-kin.
